Kristin Wilkerson, ACMHC
About Me
Kristin's clinical focus includes symptom management for ADHD, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, and OCD. She specializes in supporting individuals working through anxiety-driven perfectionism and rumination, helping them replace anxiety-driven behavior with intentional, value-based actions. She understands how exhausting it can feel when emotions feel heavy, or when you're trying your best and still feel stuck. Kristin is also invested in working with individuals navigating transitional overwhelm due to life changes and turning points. Life transitions, whether expected or disruptive, can leave us questioning ourselves, our relationships, and our direction. She has experience helping men, women, young adults, and teens build clarity, confidence, and increase their capacity for navigating the challenges that come with life transitions and relationship changes.
Therapeutic Approaches
Kristin uses evidence-based approaches, mainly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but also Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills when beneficial. She works from a person-centered foundation that values empathy, safety, and a strong therapeutic alliance. Her work focuses on helping clients notice unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, respond with intention rather than reaction, and move toward lives aligned with their deepest values.
Personal
Outside of therapy, Kristin loves spending time with her family as a wife and mom. She is a homebody at heart, and her weekends include takeout and watching Dateline.
